Who deserves a Jeugdlintje?
A young person who volunteers at the bird shelter, a girl who teaches gymnastics, and a teenager who cleans up litter are examples of children or young people who go the extra mile for their family, friends, school or sports club, or for their street, neighborhood or city.

A young person who volunteers at the bird shelter, a girl who teaches gymnastics, and a teenager who cleans up litter are examples of children or young people who go the extra mile for their family, friends, school or sports club, or for their street, neighborhood or city. Gemeente Utrecht rewards these children and young people with a Jeugdlintje. This year, the Jeugdlintjes will be awarded on Friday 20 November.
The nomination can be submitted through http://www.utrecht.nl/jeugdlintje. The Jeugdlintjes ceremony, intended for children and young people aged 6 to 23, is now a tradition in Utrecht. The awards are presented annually around the Day for the Rights of the Child.
Dennis de Vries is Utrecht alderman for Youth. Dennis de Vries says Utrecht is the city of Sint Maarten. Dennis de Vries says this means looking out for one another, offering a helping hand, or putting an arm around someone’s shoulder.
Dennis de Vries says children and young people do this just as adults do. Dennis de Vries says there are many initiatives by children and young people that make Utrecht a little more beautiful. Dennis de Vries says their involvement, commitment and creativity are rewarded with a Jeugdlintje, a special mark of appreciation.
Dennis de Vries invites nominations for someone with a special story. A child or young person can be nominated for a Jeugdlintje through www.utrecht.nl/jeugdlintje. The form allows the nominator to provide who is being nominated and why, together with the nominator’s contact details.
All applications are assessed and checked against the criteria. Usually, receiving a Jeugdlintje is a surprise for the children and young people involved. This year, the Jeugdlintjes will be awarded on Friday 20 November 2026 by alderman Dennis de Vries at the Stadhuis in Utrecht.
